Abstract

Communication in pharmacovigilance is a vital process that ensures the safe and effective use of medicines by disseminating crucial drug safety information to healthcare professionals, regulatory authorities, pharmaceutical companies, and the public. Effective communication involves the timely reporting of adverse drug reactions (ADRs), issuing safety alerts, and providing clear guidance on the risks and benefits of medications. It plays a key role in maintaining public trust, particularly during drug safety crises, by ensuring transparency and accuracy in the information shared. Communication strategies must be tailored to diverse audiences, using both digital and traditional media to reach all stakeholders. Two-way communication channels are essential, allowing feedback from healthcare providers and patients to be incorporated into ongoing safety monitoring efforts. Ultimately, effective communication in pharmacovigilance enhances patient safety, supports informed decision-making, and fosters a culture of vigilance and responsiveness in the management of drug safety.
