Abstract
Body fluids encompass all the liquids within the body, including blood, interstitial fluid, and intracellular fluid, playing vital roles in maintaining homeostasis. Blood is a critical body fluid composed of plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. It functions in transporting oxygen and nutrients, removing waste, and protecting against infections. Hemopoiesis is the process of blood cell formation, occurring primarily in the bone marrow. Hemoglobin formation involves the synthesis of heme (iron-containing molecule) and globin (protein chains), essential for oxygen transport. Anemia is a condition characterized by a deficiency in red blood cells or hemoglobin, leading to reduced oxygen-carrying capacity and symptoms like fatigue and weakness.
